Real Player Alternative.

While Adobe's PDF reader (see below) is probably the single worst legit piece of software I've used (well, maybe Norton's resource heavy anti-virus program), Real Player is certainly in the top 5. It causes problems on many systems and is an unnecessary resource hog. I highly commend the Real Alternative player to you. It will play Real Media content and not thrash up your system.
